All this Archie’s Girls talk got us majorly into reminiscing about the coolest MAC collaborations of days passed. It wasn’t easy to make the cuts, but here are our 10 favorite MAC Collaborations – from Miss Daphne Guinness to Wonder Woman to Barbie and Beth Ditto, there’s no shortage of cool MAC history to re-visit. Got anymore? Share the glamour!

Barbie Loves MAC

When the world’s most fashionable doll and exciting make-up line came together—how was anyone supposed to contain the giddy girl inside? The collaboration between Mattel and MAC back in 2007 resulted in one of our most loved collections: Barbie Loves MAC featuring lip sticks like Modern Ms., Real Doll & Rocking Chick, we really were living in a ~Barbie World~ !

MAC Hello Kitty

I don’t know what was more tempting about The Hello Kitty MAC collection launched back in ’09—did I want the make-up or did I want the packaging? Meh. Who cares? It was genius!

MAC Venomous Villains

Disney collaborates with MAC. What could possibly be more magical? But no, this collection wasn’t full of pink fairy dust and frosted lips. It was much bolder. The collection featured Disney’s most hated (loved?) villains and was full of bad girl shades.

Cindy Sherman for MAC

The 2011 collection was later renamed to MAC Fall Colour. MAC teamed up with the American photographer & filmmaker, known for her conceptual self-portraits to launch a line full of dazzling pigments. While some may have scolded it for lunacy, we saw it as insanely good.

Daphne Guinness for MAC

An artist and collector of haute couture, Daphne Guinness described her collaboration with MAC as “a window into my imagination”.  The winter colour palette featured something for everyone. A personal fav: Nail Laquer “Blue Blood”

MAC Alexander McQueen Collection

Give me one of everything. I don’t even need to see it because this collection just sounds so good. Celebrated designer Alexander McQueen, leading makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury and MAC Cosmetics paired up to create a line especially for the Alexander McQueen Autumn Winter 2007 show. If you snagged any items from this collection—your make-up came hot off the runway, pretty much.

Iris Apfel for MAC

Business woman, interior designer and fashion icon—Iris Apfel has inspired artists of all forms from around the world, and as we saw in the winter of 2011, MAC cosmetics was inspired too. Like the muse behind it all, the collection was full of brilliantly bright lipsticks, alluring eye shadow hues and intensely loud nail lacquers.

MAC Wonder Woman Collection

In spring 2011 our most loved heroine collided with our most loved make-up. MAC launched the MAC Wonder Woman collection, featuring products that were blown-up in size and pizzazz. The comic-style packaging was as wonderful as Wonder Woman herself. This collection was definitely a hit—mission accomplished!

Beth Ditto for MAC

Last summer MAC partnered up with Gossip front woman Beth Ditto to release their Summer 2012 line. The collection featured some wildly, bright neons just in time for all our ~rave festivals~. Who needs glow sticks when you’ve got Booyah! on your lips?

Archie’s Girls

Last but not least, we bring you MAC’s most recent collection: Archie’s Girls. Inspired by this comic boy’s favorite gals, the collection features two distinct looks: Betty and Veronica. So whether you’re going for the innocent, soft sexy look of the girl next door or the fiery, envious seductress, this collection lets you pull off either looks flawlessly. Here’s how!
